Butterfly Ear-Wings
All wings used in our jewelry have come
from Butterflies that have lived their full natural lives and have
died of natural causes. We do not harm or kill any butterflies for their wings.
Wings are purchased from various butterfly breeders and farmers from around the world and locally from Hawai'i. These farms raise butterflies for release into the wild or for sale to museums that have live butterfly exhibits. The lifespan of a butterfly ranges from 4-6 weeks depending on the species, so many breeders and farmers have a few butterflies that expire naturally before they have a chance to be sold or released. I offer to purchase just the wings to be recycled into unique jewelry pieces.
Since the wings used for my jewelry are attained in this manner, quantities and stock is limited to whatever wings I receive from my suppliers.

Tahitian Pearls
What are Tahitian Pearls?
Tahitian Pearls are cultured SALT WATER (ocean) pearls from Tahiti. Unlike freshwater pearls which can be produced relatively quickly, Tahitian Pearls take years to grow, and each oyster can only manage one pearl at a time. Tahitian Pearls come in a variety of colors, from the classic black and peacock, to shades of grey and the rare Pistachio. Tahitian Pearls are also valued for their luster - the inner glow resulting from light reflecting off of the layers of nacre.
While round pearls with few blemishes are the most valuable, Tahitian Pearls actually come in various shapes and sizes, and there are many who favor the interesting shapes and colors of baroque pearls.
We also have some pieces made with Golden South Sea Pearls, which - like Tahitian Pearls - are salt water pearls. But instead of Tahiti, South Sea Pearls come from Australia or the Philippines. Pictures to come soon!
Hand Soldered Tahitian Pearl Pendants
I now make my own pendants from soldered sterling silver or gold filled wire, featuring Tahitian Pearls! Pictures are now available!

Sunrise Shells
What are Sunrise Shells?
Sunrise Shells (also known as Langford’s Pecten) are a rare member of the scallop family that live exclusively in the ocean depths surrounding the islands of Hawaii. Named for their stunning coloration that mimics the blending of the yellows, oranges, reds, and pinks of the Hawaiian sunrise, these wonderful gifts from nature can also be found in earthier shades of green and purple.
Prized for both their beauty and rarity, it is said that anyone who discovers one of these treasures while walking along the beach has been blessed with good luck.
Sunrise Shell Full Natural Pairs
We are one of the few businesses to sell pendants made from full natural pairs of Sunrise Shells. A full natural pair includes both the top and the bottom one Sunrise Shell, just as you would find it in nature. The rarity of these pieces makes them utterly unique and very desirable, and they also act as reversible pendants - depending on your outfit, you can wear either the top (we pride ourselves in selecting vivid colors for our full natural pair pendants), or the bottom (normally a beautiful yellow).
For your information, we do not acquire full natural pairs that were harvested from live animals. We do not condone the collection of live Sunrise Shells, and verify that our suppliers have the same beliefs.
